The short version
- Every file you attach images, videos, PDFs, Word documents, presentations is read and analysed entirely inside your own browser. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- The compliance audit runs on your device. Your PDF report is generated on your device and saved straight to it.
- There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and your audit material is never written to a database.
- Two things do leave your device, both only when you choose them: a web address (URL) you ask us to audit (Section 3), and the name, email and comment you type into the feedback form, which are emailed to us so we can reply (Section 6).
1 Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Netra compliance portal published at ravitripathi.in/netra (“Netra”, “the portal”, “we”). Netra is an independent, free tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of SEBI, AMFI or any Asset Management Company.
2 Material you submit stays on your device
Netra is a client-side application. When you attach a file or paste text into the console, the analysis happens in your browser using code that has been downloaded to your device. Specifically:
- PDFs are parsed in your browser.
- Images are read with optical character recognition (OCR) that runs locally on your device.
- Videos are decoded and their frames captured and OCR'd locally. The video file is never transmitted.
- Word documents and presentations are unzipped and read locally.
- Pasted text is held only in your browser's memory for the duration of the audit.
We never receive, see, store or transmit the contents of these files. Nothing is written to a server, and nothing persists after you close or refresh the page Netra does not use cookies, localStorage or any other persistent storage.
3 Website links and social profiles — the one exception
If you ask Netra to audit a web address (a website, a post link, or a social-media profile), your browser cannot fetch that page directly because of browser security rules. To read the page, the address you enter is sent to a third-party proxy service, which retrieves the page and returns its text.
This means the URL you submit is disclosed to that third-party service, along with your IP address, as with any ordinary web request. The proxy services currently used are:
- api.allorigins.win
- corsproxy.io
- r.jina.ai
If the link is a YouTube video, its public title and channel are also requested from youtube.com. These services are operated by independent parties under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Please do not submit URLs that contain confidential information for example private, password-protected or unlisted pages, or links with secret tokens in them. If a page is sensitive, copy its visible text and paste that into the console instead; pasted text never leaves your device.
4 Third-party resources your browser loads
To keep the portal small and fast, some software libraries and fonts are loaded from public content-delivery networks when you use a feature that needs them. Making any such request necessarily reveals your IP address and browser details to that provider this is how the web works, and it is true of virtually every website you visit. The providers are:
- cdnjs.cloudflare.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net — document-reading, OCR and PDF-generation libraries.
- fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com — typefaces used in the interface.
These providers receive only the request for the file itself. They do not receive your uploaded material, your audit results or your report.
5 Your audit report
The PDF audit report is composed entirely in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. It is not sent to us, it is not stored anywhere by us, and we retain no copy of it or of the snapshots (image thumbnails, video frames, document pages) embedded inside it.
Once the report is on your device, you alone control it. If it contains material that is confidential to you or to your clients, please store and share it accordingly.
6 The feedback form
The portal includes an optional feedback form. It is the only place where you deliberately send personal information to us, and only if you fill it in and press “Send feedback”. When you submit it, three things you type — your name, your email address and your comment — are sent to our server and forwarded to us by email so we can read and reply to you.
- What is sent: the name, email and comment you enter, plus your IP address and the time of sending (attached for spam-prevention and to help us reproduce any bug you report).
- How it travels: the message is handled by a small script on our hosting server and delivered to our mailbox through Google's authenticated mail service. Your feedback is not stored in a database or shown publicly.
- Why: to receive and respond to your message. We rely on your act of submitting the form as your consent to this.
- How long: your message lives in our email inbox for as long as we reasonably need it to act on your feedback, after which it may be deleted. A short, temporary spam-throttle record (your IP and a timestamp) is kept on the server for a few minutes and then discarded.
- Your control: you may ask us to delete your message at any time using the contact details in Section 12.
Please keep feedback to the portal itself. Do not paste confidential client data, account numbers or the actual material you are auditing into the feedback box — it is not needed to help you, and it would be emailed to us.
7 What we do not do
- We do not create accounts or ask you to register.
- We do not set cookies or use any tracking, advertising or analytics technology.
- We do not store, upload or retain the material you submit for audit, your results, or your report — all of that stays on your device.
- We do not sell, rent, publish or share your information, and we do not use the feedback you send for any purpose other than responding to it.
8 Hosting logs
The portal is served by our hosting provider. Like nearly all web hosts, the provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, timestamp, requested file and browser type) for security and operational purposes. These logs are generated by the host and never contain the material you submit for audit.
9 Security, and its limits
Your audit material is processed locally and never transmitted to us, so the ordinary risks of storing that data on a server do not arise. Feedback you send travels over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection. Nevertheless, no method of transmission or processing over the internet is completely secure. You remain responsible for the security of your own device and browser, and for deciding what is appropriate to submit.
10 Your rights
Because the only personal data we ever receive is what you voluntarily send through the feedback form, your rights are simple to exercise. You may ask us to confirm what we hold, to correct it, or to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will act on your request within a reasonable time.
11 Children
Netra is a professional tool intended for mutual fund distributors, asset management companies and their compliance teams. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
12 Changes to this policy
If the portal's behaviour changes in a way that affects your privacy — for instance if a different proxy service is used, or the feedback flow changes — this policy will be updated and the “last updated” date above revised. Material changes will be reflected here before or at the time they take effect.
13 Contact
For any question about this policy, to exercise your rights, or to ask us to delete feedback you sent, email contact@ravitripathi.in.
