What is stored, and where
The Studio saves your learning progress in your browser's local storage — a small data store that never leaves this device:
- Streaks, daily goals and practice history
- Favourite phrases, phrases practiced today, and watched-video ticks
- Your personal notes from the Study Vault
- Role-play ratings and play counts
- Your last position, zoom and theme in the book reader
None of this is transmitted anywhere. There is no account, no login, and no database — if you open the Studio on another device or browser, it starts fresh.
Microphone & speech features
- The microphone is used only when you tap a mic or record button, and your browser will ask for permission first.
- "Record myself" audio is held temporarily in your browser's memory so you can play it back — it is not saved to disk or uploaded by this app, and it is discarded when you leave the page.
- If you use live speech-to-text in the Role-Play Studio, be aware that your browser (e.g., Google Chrome) may process that audio through its own speech-recognition service, under the browser's own privacy policy. If you prefer not to, simply don't use the mic button — speaking aloud without it works just as well.
Your book
The English Grammar PDF is read directly from your computer. Whether it loads automatically or you pick the file, the book is opened locally in your browser — it is never uploaded to any server. If you use "Continue reading", your browser stores a private reference to the file on this device only.
Third-party services this Studio touches
A few features load content from external services. When they do, those services may see your IP address and set their own cookies, under their own policies:
- YouTube — video thumbnails (ytimg.com) and the in-page player (youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's reduced-tracking embed). Playing a video is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — the Inter and Manrope typefaces.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) — the PDF.js reader engine on the book page.
- External links — Project Gutenberg, dictionaries and similar resources open in a new tab and are governed by their own policies.
This app itself sets no cookies and contains no analytics, trackers or advertising of any kind.
Deleting your data
Two ways, both instant:
- Use "Reset my progress data" in the Studio's footer — wipes streaks, favourites, notes and reader position.
- Or clear this site's data from your browser settings (Cookies & Site Data), which removes everything including the book reference.
Changes & contact
This is a personal, non-commercial learning tool; it isn't directed at children and collects nothing about anyone. If the way it works changes materially, this page will be updated with a new effective date. Questions or suggestions: contact@ravitripathi.in.
